Lay the bagel flat with fingers on top o-u-t-s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d, and slice half way through. Then stand the bagel upright and finish slicing.
Your bagel will be its delicious best up to the BEST BEFORE date. To keep them for longer, pop in your freezer on the day of purchase. Then after 15 seconds on high in the microwave it's ready to devour, with a fresh-from-the-oven baked texture.
Kids love bagels, and they're especially great for teething babies – something solid to get their teeth into! And bagels don't drop as many crumbs as bread. Bagel crisps are great for little teeth too – keep some in the car, the handy resealable pack keeps them fresh for whenever you need them.
Bagels are great any time of the day. They just love classic spreads - try vegemite, jam or marmalade; if you're feeling decadent add some cream cheese. For some extra protein at breakfast top them with scrambled eggs and bacon. Or for a quick fix toast then spread with pate – yum. Slice and fill with sliced meats and salad greens for lunch. Simply toast then butter to eat with a bowl of soup. A light dinner could be mini pizzas using a split bagel as a base – heaps of possibilities!
